Do you have group study room in the libraries? How can I reserve one?

Answer

Yes, there are 3 group study rooms (L219, L221, and L222) in the Jersey City campus and 1 in the North Hudson Campus (N303D).

GENERAL GUIDELINES

  • Study rooms are only available to current HCCC students who are either:
    • Small groups of students (2 or more).
    • Individuals taking an online class where they have to speak, who are being interviewed virtually, or who are taking an exam.
  • Reservations can be made up to 7-days in advance.
  • Study rooms can only be reserved for 2 hours max per day. You are not allowed to bypass this with multiple reservations within the same group.
  • To check out your room, come to the service desk on time. At ten (10) minutes past your reservation time, the reservation will be canceled. You will need your HCCC ID with the current semester's sticker to check out your room.
  • If you need technology, reserve textbooks, or other materials for your time in the study room, remember to check them out before checking out your room.
  • If you have other needs for the study room that don’t meet the criteria above, if you are looking for exam space but can’t find an open time, or if your exam is longer than 2 hours, please email us
  • Do not leave personal items (laptops, mobile phones, wallets, etc.) unattended. HCCC Library is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
